Toreno's Ranch is a large estate in southern Tierra Robada. The property consists of a large two-storey house, hangar-like garage and it's own private dock. The ranch also features multiple dirt roads leading away from the ranch, providing easy access to the highway that runs along the southern coast of the northern landmass. It is a short drive from both Fort Carson and Las Barrancas and is the only notable feature of the tip of the Tierra Robada peninsula.
The interior of the home is unique in that it is completely open, lacking a dedicated interior. The decor is quite detailed, with some interesting textures and models, leading some myth hunters to become interested in the property. According to the game's website, stylized as a police report, the ranch does not exist. This implies the local law enforcement are actively working to hide the existence of the ranch.
The ranch is implied to be owned by Mike Toreno, a federal agent, and is named on official maps as such. It is possible however that the estate may be owned by his respective agency and be a government asset.
Myths
Conspiracy Theory
During the mission Verdant Meadows, Toreno can be seen reading Conspiracy Theory, a book that he seems to disagree with. He mentions in passing that well known historical events did not happen the way that we know. In particular he finds it amusing that people believe that America nuked Japan and Hitler killed himself.
Ever Black Shadow
Inside the main lobby of the ranch, there is a shadow on the wall that appears artificial. While the source of the shadow is valid, it is darker than another identical shadow located on the opposite side of the room. The painted-on shadow covers up painting as well as a stack of papers on the desk, leading to theories that it is intentionally placed as a censor.
UFO Map
A copy of the infamous UFO Map is located above a desk in the living room of the ranch. This is the only other example that can be found outside the Lil' Probe Inn. Considering Toreno's known affiliation with a government agency, this could bring validity to the map. However, Toreno has been shown to have possessions that contain information that he deems incorrect, as with the conspiracy theory book, if for nothing else but entertainment value. It is entirely possible he enjoys mocking this map just as he does with the book.
Having said this, the map's central placement near the study implies it is frequently referenced and suggests it is at least somewhat useful in daily operations, so there may be some legitimacy in the markings.
Animals
Animals have long been reported across San Andreas. While there is a single dee head texture in the game files, this belongs to a taxidermy of a deer head located at the back entrance of Toreno's Ranch. While this is not suspicious on its own, the texture of the deer appears to be slightly more detailed than typical decor. This has led players to believe that this texture may be left-over from earlier in development when animals were planned to be included but were ultimately destined to be part of cut content. Other myth hunters have claimed to sight animals that use this incomplete texture, however, no conclusive evidence of animals has yet been produced.
Traffic Glitch
There is a unique glitch in this location that causes vehicles to drive on the nearby dirt roads that pass through the property. If the player jumps onto the roof of the building and maneuvers to the edge of the second storey platform, they can shake their camera around violently to cause vehicles to spawn on the road. This is simply a glitch, as the road itself is considered to be a regular pedestrian pathway, and the game will not distinguish it from another road.
