GTA Myths Wiki

The Tierra Robada bait shop is a location in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas linked to myths.

Description[]

The bait shop is located in central Tierra Robada on the underdeveloped road between Las Barrancas and El Quebrados, one of only two structures built there. It was built at the end of an unnamed inlet linking the bait shop to the waters of the Sherman Dam reservoir, with a small dock nearby servicing the shop's customers. The bait shop itself is an unassuming building using a generic countryside model of a small wooden shack, only distinguished by its large BAIT SHOP sign atop the building. A towed trailer home can be found behind the property.

The area around the bait shop has pedestrian pathways, limited to the bait shop itself as well as the dock and adjacent sidewalks. These restricted spawn conditions may sometimes result in large clusters of pedestrians standing together, in comparison to other areas in the game where pedestrians have room to spread out. Desert pedestrian models spawn around the bait shop, including the alleged serial killer pedestrian Mr. Trenchcoat. The bait shop remains one of the more common areas where the pedestrian is said to run amok and begin attacking other pedestrians unprovoked.

A dirt track branching off from the bait shop leads to two houses that are epicenters of Serial Killer sightings, rumored to be his residence or a crime scene. It is said that the proximity to the bait shop is the reason why the killer has been so often reported there. Street criminals, who can spawn on the road next to the shop, may sometimes launch the pedestrians into a panic and lead them to flee into the nearby desert, giving the impression of an escaped victim of the killer.
