Three Deep is a mystery or a mystery character in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

Description[]

During the mission, Wrong Side of the Tracks, C.R.A.S.H. leader Tenpenny and Officer Pulaski are seen leaving Big Smoke's house, at the same time Carl Johnson arrives and asks Big Smoke what were the two, sworn enemies of Grove Street, doing in his house. Big Smoke dodges the question by phrasing how Tenpenny wants to meddle his nose in every business Smoke wants to do. Carl, trusting Smoke's word, believes in the same. However, in reality, C.R.A.S.H. was planning their drug trade with Big Smoke as part of his betrayal alliance against Grove Street.

After C.R.A.S.H. departs from Big Smoke's house, Smoke speaks to Carl Johnson about the information given to him by Three Deep. The duo later departs for Unity Station to shoot Los Santos Vagos before they reach San Fierro to meet the Rifas.

CJ: Yeah, I guess. What's really up?
Big Smoke: Hey, thinking of taking a little ride. Three deep mentioned a little something that might put us deeper in the game.
CJ: A'ight, I'm down.

–Smoke mentioning Three Deep

The mystery lies in the words spoken by Big Smoke when he mentions "Three Deep". Myth hunters and skeptics have their own say on the origin of Three Deep. There are two opinions regarding Three Deep;

  • It is generally believed that Three Deep is an unseen member of Grove Street who tipped Big Smoke with the information about the Vagos. This is the widely accepted version of Three Deep.
  • Some of the players believe that Three Deep refers to C.R.A.S.H. members, Tenpenny, Pulaski, and Hernandez. Players state that the act against Vagos was carried on the orders of Tenpenny and not for the benefit of Grove Street.
