The GTA New Myths Wiki Proposal

Here's the message that I received in our Facebook page :

Greetings, GTA Myths Wiki team! My name's GTAMyths1, and some of you might know of some of my videos from around 2009-2011. I've been thinking about making a comeback, and I have a proposal for the entire GTA Myths Community.

I've had this idea about a community myth hunt (which is not too different from what you guys are doing in wiki format). The basic idea is this:

We decide upon something to hunt. People send me their own myth clips, I assemble them into a coherent video and credit their channel, and we get a community-based myth hunt going on'''''.

So essentially, we find and investigate things together. I just do the editing. Something of the lines of "GTA Myth Hunters - Community Hunting Episode [1/2/3/whatever]"

Contributors receive extra recognition and videos will be of a high quality since the whole community has took part.

Anyway it's just an idea at the minute, but I wondered if you guys wanted to be a part of this. The exposure you have would make for a great source of fan-captured content, and it would be a great distribution channel for the videos once they're created. I'm thinking we could host the videos on both my youtube channel and your website, but I'm open to suggestions. The myth hunting community is dying, and I believe every reputable player in the community needs to work together to keep it alive.

    Thanks,

    GTAMyths1

Grand Theft Auto Mysteries - Community Myth Hunt Series CALLING ALL MYTH HUNTERS

So anyway, it's no longer just an idea; this is happening and the YouTube video officially announcing it and detailing the plan has been uploaded.

I've created this thread so we can decide between us what we want to hunt, and once we come to a decision I'll announce it and start collecting the clips.

So, yeah. Any GTA game, any myth. Any ideas?

If I was to suggest one, it'd be the kamikaze planes on San Andreas. They're notoriously hard to capture on video but with enough people trying I'm sure we'll see results. They have a pretty cool backstory, too!

    • I really like the Kamikaze idea, That one I vote for, Because I'd like to know more about these, And try finding them too!

      Never heard about them before.

    • Hmmm, well, if I had to pick one myth to focus the community on, I think it would be the Romero Riddle from GTA VC. This thing is a huge nexus already, involing various companies in Little Haiti, but it was largely the work of only two people (Myself and an old user named Xalbador.) I think if we got a large amount of people to look for more connections, this conspiracy would grew even larger.

By the way, I edited the original post a little bit. I made the part where you recalled the original thread into a collapsable so it would take up less space, and also highlighted the thread so all logged in users are notified when they visit the wiki. I hope you don't mind.

    • Yeah it's cool, the post looks a lot nicer now! :)

Liking the sound of this Romero Riddle though, I've seen most of the aspects but it's never actually occured to me that they could all be linked

    • I'd be fun to chase ghostplanes with a group of people.

    • I am thinking, I will think of it tomorrow.

    • Kamikaze sounds like a great idea to start it off, maybe try link it with Terrorism, so perhaps we could do a double for the price of one, what about some minor myths maybe?

    • I agree with Jak, kamikaze sounds good. If not we could start getting some myths in area of San Fierro. I don't know if it is me but it lacks myths. We could also explore myths connected with aliens (Area 69, UFOs, kamikaze planes, aliens in everday life ect...)

I have a theory for kamikaze planes.

As they are passing over cities or towns and planes are very fast. It is probably a path glitch but adding a little salt to the theory could do something to it. So as I said they are very fast. As they are flying they saw a strange object like UFO (happend a lot of times). Now why they crash.

      A) They are panicked and try to go around the object but can't and end up crashing.

      B) Possesed by the UFO, like if aliens can wipe whole minds and brainwash you they can probably posses the guy driving the plane.

      C) UFO has an EMP (Electro magnetic pulse) device which is known to be in strong nuclear warheads (not sure if they really fit it in or is it just the effect when the bomb explodes). Basically what it does is that it shuts down all the electronic things in the area and are known to also shut down car engines and such. So it is either that it shuts down the engine of a plane that then crashes or it turns off its radar and the driver somehow crashes.

If you are this far, thanks.

    • Planes huh? I would probably prefer something more "spooky" tbh but I'm down for whatever is agreed on lol.

Planes spawn a particular distance above the player and fly in a straight line, so if there are any objects in the way, the plane will crash. This applies to all planes (except Andromada and AT-400, which spawn a little higher). The strange part, though, is what happens with Rustlers. Every so often, one will actively try to hit you. They actually AIM for you. Considering the fact that it only happens with this particular WW2 fighter, and the fact it's happened so many times to me while I've been stood on one of the two ships in SF, the only thing that makes sense is if they're a reference to the Japanise kamikaze planes that hit Pearl Harbor in World War 2.

    • We could try for the Woods Creature, but I doubt we would be able to find anything.

    • Aww shit, one day break from the Myths Wiki and I don't know what is up... Can you explain what are we going to hunt, GTAMyths1?

    • It's looking like it's between the Romero Riddle and the Kamikaze Planes. Both have their pros and cons:

Kamikazi Planes lack depth as a mystery and it will be hard to get an interesting and entertaining video out of a brief introduction and 50 clips of somebody getting hit by a plane.

The Romero Riddle has the precise opposite problem in that it will be tricky to co-ordinate a hunt and expand on an entire nexus of mystery in one video, and it will be even trickier at this moment to get the community involved in such a deep, groundbreaking controlled search.

I'm thinking we put it to vote, and we can all consider all aspects before we cast said vote.

      But my proposal is this:

For episode 1, we do something easily co-ordinatable and likely to bring results (kamikaze planes).

After analysing the results and response, we use the momentum we've created with the pilot to get a sophisticated, huge hunt going for the romero riddle; break new ground getting to the bottom of what's looking like a potential huge discovery. That would be episode 2, and hopefully, the one that really gets the whole community properly motivated.

I agree on that, I don't know about the rest tho.
