Although those images look similar how do you know R* didn't just make the creature's model look like the one in that photo? And what alien thing are you talking about?
Okay... Anyone in the creepypasta community knows that that is the rake. Also, you can tell that it is fake because of the outline around the right arm. DEBUNKED.
The reason I "know" is because I do photoshops for fun in my spare time and this isn't even a good one by my crappy standards. The monsters are in the exact same position and they even account for the missing hands by hiding them.
Look, I want crazy shit to be in the game. I just know a photoshop when I see one.
Hey @The Funktasm I know it is fake, but could you explain the shadow?
If I was shown better evidence that this exists, I would investigate. But for now this myth is fake.
All it is, is another layer of the same thing, flipped and shaped then overlayed on the background. Shadows are relatively easy to fake, but lighting color and rimlighting aren't. That monster isn't tinted like the rest of the scene. The player is also not looking at it despite it being in-frame. The player would likely be glancing over even in a short encounter. Another good tell is how the source image looks terrible from being compressed twice, but the monster is rather clear.
I'm on the fence whether this is true. It could be photoshoped, but the shadow and color texture of the creature make me think it's real. The ghost and UFOs are not the average color texture you see throughout the game so this swamp creature I would say is 70% real.
Okay, I guess you guys may need to see this then.

On the left, the picture from the article, and on the right, the same with the source image overlaid. It's at 50% opacity and lines up perfectly. Shopped. This is exactly like that monster boar, only somewhat more crude. It's also quite brighter than the area around Trevor and underlit.
