The Suicide Bridge is a mythical location found in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
Suicide Bridge[]
During the early part of the twentieth century, the Colorado Street Bridge became known locally as "Suicide Bridge", after dozens of people leaped to their deaths. The bridge had a bad reputation before it was even built, as a construction worker fell to his death and landed in the wet cement under the bridge. Supposedly, he is still there today.
The number of deaths spiked during the Great Depression but didn't stop there. The most known story is told about a woman and her child. One night, the mother took her child and herself to the bridge and was ready to end it all. She threw her baby first and then jumped, plummeting to her death. The child survived, as it landed in a tree unharmed, but the mother ended her life.
A barrier was installed in an effort to deter suicides, but the bridge retained its nickname. To this day, some still use the bridge as a means to end their lives. For example, on October 27, 2015, British-American model and reality television star Sam Sarpong committed suicide by jumping from the bridge.
Description[]
There is an unnamed bridge in Mulholland, immediately to the west of CJ's safehouse in the district. The bridge has a slight resemblance to the real-life bridge. Myth hunters have also pointed out how a part of the bridge's railing is warped, possibly indicating that someone drove their car off the bridge to commit suicide. Other parts of the railing have small gaps that a person could walk through.
The bridge was rumored to be a suicide bridge, due to the gaps in the railing. Players have reported that if the player stays on the bridge too long, ghosts will appear, and that in the morning they can see peds jumping from the bridge. These rumors are false. However, if the player shoots at a pedestrian, they will jump off the bridge.
