Strange Howling is a proven myth in Grand Theft Auto V.
Description[]
The periodically changing howling can be heard at the northern end of the Mount Chiliad Tunnel, near the entrance of the Paleto Forest, from 21:00 to 4:00, with the most consistent appearance being between 2:00 to 4:00. If the player searches for the place the howling is heard from, nothing particularly interesting will be found.
The howl is likely a reference to the first sighting of a lone male gray wolf in California In late December 2011 since their mass killings in 1924, which decimated their wild populations in California. In the game files, the audio file for the howl is called distant_forest_wolf.awc proving the howl does come from the lone wolf.
