Spand Express is a delivery company in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. The Spand Express depot was located adjacent to Avery Carrington's construction site.
Description[]
During 1986, Avery Carrington, Vice City's real estate mogul, had planned to expand his business like never before. Avery Carrington planned to either purchase or cause the abandonment of any businesses bordering Avery Towers. Spand Express was such a business located adjacent to Avery Towers. Tommy Vercetti was the summoned by Ken Rosenberg and Avery Carrington to cause chaos in Spand Expresses' riot. To Avery's delight, the chaos in the riot, caused the Spand Express to abandon its depot. This caused recession crisis and many of Spand Express employees went jobless, one of them committed suicide on the Links Bridge.
Myths[]
Mystery rose after the abandonment, many theorize that the plot hatched by Avery Carrington was to have a storage for one of his secret businesses, rumored to be either used for drugs or weapons. It could be plausible that Avery didn't want to attract any heat to the area and was utilizing the space without purchasing the land, further weakening the suspicion.
Fort Staunton Connection[]
Another theory that supports Avery's involvement with the drugs and weapons selling, is the fact he was going to attend a meeting with the Cartel in Liberty City to re-develop Fort Staunton and get more money running through the district, however these plans failed as Avery was killed by Toni Cipriani.
