The Kraken is an unlikely myth in Grand Theft Auto V. It is believed that the Kraken is located in The Abyss.
Description
A doctored image from before the game was released.
The Kraken is a legendary sea monster of giant proportions. The myth is based off the actual sea monster said to dwell off the coasts of Norway and Greenland.
Players believe that the Kraken grabs and pulls down submarines and boats down into crushing depth, where their occupants die.
Although nobody has seen this legendary beast, there is a pile of bones located on the seafloor off the west coast of Los Santos. The bones are of a whale. This could be an Easter egg about the Kraken by Rockstar.

The player can't go deeper than 490 feet in the ocean (as they will be crushed after a short period time.) The Kraken is only seen in a photoshopped trailer image. It is unknown what is happening in deeper places of GTA V's oceans, as players cannot explore the deepest parts without the use of cheats. However, if the player uses cheats and goes extremely fast to the bottom of the deep sea, they will be teleported back to the surface.
