GTA Myths Wiki
For the myth in GTA III, see Haunted Bathroom.

The Haunted Lavatories are a mythical location in Grand Theft Auto IV.

The lavatories are located in Middle Park in Algonquin. It is said, that they are haunted by ghosts, who frequently open and close the doors of the toilets throughout the day and night. It is also said that blood can be seen on the mirrors in the bathroom too, and that footsteps and screams can be heard coming from the cubicles. These might be from the ghosts of Ray Boccino's three men that Niko kills after they steal the diamonds.

Strangely, the rooms are covered in graffiti and seem abandoned altogether, since no pedestrians can ever be seen going in or out of the bathrooms. This is despite the bathrooms being placed into the game as a reference to the real life bathrooms which are located in Central Park, which on the contrast are much cleaner and frequented by people 24 hours a day.

This is one of the few places in-game containing working mirrors.

The restroom altogether has a creepy atmosphere, because of its dim lightning, the overall lack of pedestrians, and how poor condition it is in, it is easy to see why players think it is haunted.

SAW Easter Egg

The bathroom in the movie SAW.

The Middle Park bathroom is very similar in appearance and layout to the bathroom in the infamous movie SAW. In the movie, two individuals are chained up and locked in the bathroom left to die, by a sadistic mad man. Fans of the movie claim the bathroom's status as a criminal hotspot is a reference to the murders committed at the bathroom in the film.
