The Ghost World is a glitched universe in Grand Theft Auto V.

Description[]

If a player somehow manages to fly far away from the map of Los Santos by removing the invisible barriers that are present at the end of the map and modifies the camera positioning, making it follow the player despite their location, after the player proceeds in the otherwise seemingly "endless" waters of the map, they will find themselves in a glitched location nicknamed the "Ghost World". Modifying the camera is important, as if the player removes only the barriers but does not modify the camera, it will stop following them after a point.

This place seems to contain various unused and/or glitched objects that are otherwise not found in normal gameplay and are presumambly placed there to avoid interactions with the playable map as Rockstar Games possibly thought that it would be impossible for a player to reach this area.

The Ghost World also appears to have various other objects that are meant to appear only in specific missions and are normally placed there when in normal gameplay, but are scripted to be teleported in an other location when needed. As an example, the North Yankton vehicles are placed there when the Prologue or Bury The Hatchet missions have not been completed and are not shown as "active" in the game script.

The objects in this area seemingly float in the sky as there is no real ground by that point. Once the player reaches this area, the water will stop generating and if the player flies their plane down enough, they will reach Blue Hell and will be teleported back to Los Santos.

The whole area is also rumored to be used as a "debug room" for testing various mechanics in the game.

Provability[]

Various photos and descriptions of the Ghost World had emerged on some GTA forums but it's existence has been questioned by many who argue that the area does not exist or is a mod because unused objects despawn and are not placed in an unreachable location far away from the map. Many also point out to the possibility that the game's camera cannot be modified to allow someone to view so far in the map. However, as it has already been proven that various unused objects and areas are hidden in Blue Hell (and thus do not despawn), some believe that the Ghost World truly exists in the game.
