The Stairs are a mythical location in Grand Theft Auto IV.

The Stairs are located in the Suffolk Church Graveyard. They are said to be a reference to the stairs featured in the 1973 film, The Exorcist. In the movie, Damien Karras and Burke Dennings are murdered by Pazuzu and thrown out the window of Regan's room onto the stairs.
However, upon technical analysis, the stairs in GTA IV aren't a reference to the film because the stairs in the movie are of extensive size with multiple landings and about 10-20 meters long, whereas the stairs in the game are of miniature size and lack the railings along them that happened to be in the movie, thus abandoning the long rumored myth as false.
