Verdant Meadows is an abandoned airfield that is acquired by the player in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. It is located in the northern portion of Bone County, north of Area 69 and east of the Desert Building.

Description[]

The Airfield was bought by Carl Johnson under the orders of Mike Toreno, Who wants CJ to learn to fly, During the Mission Verdant Meadows

The airfield has a single dirt runway, some large hangars, a garage, and a small control tower towards the east. This is the location of a Hydra, PCJ-600 (Which tends to spawn even before the Airfield is bought), and Jetpack. The Rustler spawns after completing the mission Learning to Fly and after the completion of the mission Up Up and Away! the Leviathan becomes available. The Hunter only spawns after obtaining all gold medals in the Flying School. It's worth noting that once the Leviathan and Hunter are unlocked, only one can spawn and they alternate depending if the player arrives from the west (Hunter) or from the east (Leviathan.) There are many large dismantled airplanes on either side of the runway. They appear to be decommissioned and in a state of disrepair. It is proven that the airfield has been abandoned before CJ buys it in 1992, although it is not known for how long it has been abandoned. In the mission Green Goo, CJ also brings it to The Truth, and this airport can be the location of this green substance.

Myths[]

Mutants are said to appear at night in this location, along with Aliens and Mr. Trenchcoat. The large abandoned airplanes along the runways appear to be dismantled Andromadas. However, they lack the black dot on the nose and the tail configuration is noticeably different from the one the Andromada has. Also, there is a spawn point for Killer Crates.

Rarely, a red color patch can be seen to the west of the airstrip. It is possibly just a glitched texture,
