Dinosaurs are an unlikely myth in Grand Theft Auto V.

When the player is roaming the premises of the Derelict Motel, they may randomly hear what sounds like the roar of a Tyrannosaurus Rex in the distance. This bizarre sound is what lead people to believe that you could find dinosaurs roaming the map, particularly in the desert. Motels in the Mojave Desert (which the in-game desert is based on) stereotypically have large dinosaur statues propped next to them. This lead hunters to believe that dinosaurs were cloned by the government and released into the countryside. The only place where this could've happened is Humane Labs and Research.
