A Chainsaw is a mechanical and motor-driven saw, usually portable, in which the cutting teeth form links in a continuous chain. The frightening sound of the tool has been the subject of terror, earning the chainsaw a spot in popular movies, such as The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Scarface, and in popular videogame series such as Doom, Gears of War and Resident Evil. The Chainsaw is one of the most common weapons associated with myths. The most notable three are: Leatherface, the Apartment 3C Murderer and the "Old Woman" of the Ghost Town. It is also said that Piggsy spawns carrying a chainsaw, but it is supposedly more common to see him with a knife. The Chainsaw also might be Chainsaw Killer's weapon. The chainsaw can also be used by the player in GTA San Andreas and GTA Vice City Stories. The chainsaw is normally reported to be wielded by the myth but can also be found in a location where the myth is located, such as the Hampton Barns or the Panopticon.
Rockstar's website version of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, includes a strange line about the Chainsaw that it can cut through bones. This might be a reference to the Apartment 3C massacre and the Killer himself.
